5 Dates to go on This Weekend in Edmonton | June 9-11

From a green carnival, to a night market – and of course, the pride parade and celebration – there are so many date ideas in Edmonton this weekend. Kick it off with an Angry F@#$ing Yoga class on Thursday night – there’s a handful of tickets left for this yoga class + tequila shots!

We’ve picked a few of our favourites – so check them out, here:

Just a Little Night Market | Friday & Saturday
We are Edmonton’s original night market! Never before has Edmonton seen a true night market. This is not a farmers market at night, quite the opposite. Imagine as the sun begins to set vendors selling their wares, local music and entertainment from emerging local artists, the smells of food and places to gather. You never know what you will find, movies, belly dancing, fire breathing, a private members speakeasy, it is a truly unique experience for all ages. Admission is $5.00 at the door. Get your exclusive membership to our speakeasy La Facade & wine garden on our website. There, you’ll find bubble waffle ice cream!

Get Creative in Paisley | Saturday
Celebrate the grand opening of the new show homes in the community of Paisley, and while you’re there, watch a performance from Shakespeare in the Park and experience workshops by Paint Live. Take in the entertainment, explore a new community and eat and drink with free refreshments. It’s a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Edmonton if you’ve been searching for a date to get creative.

Rainbow Visions Video Dance Party | Saturday, 9pm
Kick it old school and celebrate the pride celebration with a video dance party. Rocky Mountain Icehouse presents Rainbow Visions Video Dance Party June 10th! Dance all night with VJ Def Boi and special guest DJs – come ready to have fun!

Walk Through Chinatown | Sunday, 10:30
Did you know that Edmonton’s Chinatown is the largest in area of any North American Chinatown? Did you know that Chinatown has a few different hearts? Come along for a walk to learn about Chinatown’s past, present, and future. We’ll touch on the history of Edmonton’s two Chinatowns, current development pressures, and visit a few of the businesses on and off 97th Street.

Sustainival | All weekend
Can you imagine an amazingly fun carnival powered entirely by green energy? Well, get ready because it’s real and it’s coming to Edmonton for the first time this summer! On top of the awesome rides and mini-donuts galore, you can also win incredible prizes by participating in the Green Beast Eco-Challenge, a site-wide interactive scavenger hunt adventure. Enjoy free entertainment, lots of free educational games and shop in the Green Marketplace. Sustainival is a great family-friendly event and kids from ages 2 to 92 will all take something unique away from this one-of-a-kind outdoor Green Carnival experience!

Yoga with Goats | Sunday
Bring your own yoga mat (preferrably one you don’t mind getting dirty and any props you like if you have them) footwear to suit the weather and being on a farm with animals, You may also want to consider bug spray & sunscreen or a hat…oh and your sense of humour! The class is 45 minutes. Be prepared to get some sweet baby goat snuggles, a lot of laughs and watch these crazy kids play and explore throughout our practice together.
