Escape Rooms are one of the latest and greatest when it comes to date night in Edmonton. They’re popping up all over the city, and they provide a getaway for date night. We’ve done at least half of the escape rooms in Edmonton, experiencing puzzles and breaking out, learning which friends to bring – and who to leave at home. Through the experience, we’ve discovered a few favourites – the best escape rooms for date night in Edmonton.
Here are 5 escape rooms you’ve got to try in Edmonton
The Heist | GTFO
The Heist tops my list when it comes to escape rooms in Edmonton. It’s one of those rooms that has puzzle after puzzle, where multiple people can work together solving but also break up into smaller teams. We had four people, the perfect amount, and the unexpected result of the puzzles being solved brings it to the top of our list. Suitable for beginners and even fun for those of you who have experienced many other rooms, you won’t be disappointed in the heist.
Neurological | Escape City
This one was tough. We didn’t beat this one the first time around, and went back for round two – successfully. Teamwork is essential in this one and it’s one of the coolest set-ups that we’ve seen in the city – completely different from any other room that you would have experienced. You start separately and end up working together, so don’t be afraid to bring a bigger group to Neurological.
The Cabin | Escape City
We learned the hard way that you had to pay attention when you first walk into the room, in the Cabin. The Cabin tops our list because you literally feel as though you’ve been locked into a cabin in the woods. Between the sounds, the ambiance of the creaky floor and the puzzles – you’re completely immersed in the game.
Poltergeist | Logic Lock
When we were searching for an escape room that would be good for both beginners and seasoned escape artists, we were recommended Poltergeist and we’re glad that we went. There was a great combination of puzzles, like we said, for every level of player and the room is full of unique puzzles. The creepy vibe is done well, but the room isn’t overly scary. Try it because the room comes with a level of creativity that’s hard to match.
Lethal Virus | Time Escape
Lethal Virus is one of those rooms that makes it on to the tough list. Like, don’t attempt this room if it’s your first time heading to an escape room for date night, but it’s a great room. The puzzles make sense, progress nicely and aren’t completely linear (frustrating for some of the people we finished this room with). We didn’t pass the first time around and though the theme of the room is pretty common, the puzzles inside the room are unique.
