This weekend, we had the chance to preview some of the experiences, food and drinks, during Jasper in January. This annual festival is a really cool way to experience Jasper during the winter months, through live music, food, and of course - the outdoor activities.

The Guided hike of Maligne Canyon is an iconic winter experience in Edmonton and one that even if you’ve experienced it before - you’re going to want to again. This six-hour tour begins at the office in Jasper where you meet your guide and get your gear. You then travel to our climbing site: Maligne Canyon, Tangle Falls, or Edge of the World, based on the weather - then, get climbing. End the Celebration with Fireworks
On the third and final weekend of Jasper in January, you can enjoy the only fireworks in the National Park. The fireworks coincide with the street party to end the festival - and it’s a must do because it truly is one of the only times you’ll see fireworks in Jasper!

Where to Stay in Jasper during Jasper in January

This wasn’t our first stay at Bear Hill Lodge in Jasper and it won’t be our last. The cabins are perfectly located, filled with modern amenities while still maintaining that rustic charm - and most important, has an incredibly comfortable bed for the most relaxing weekend away - complete with a cozy fireplace to warm up to.

The cabins are comfortable, and have a variety of sizes to suit your need, whether you’re heading out for the weekend for a weekend-date, or you’re planning a whole family holiday (they’ve got some incredible, larger size cabins).
