17 Delicious Cooking Classes to Take in Edmonton this January

Essential Knife Skills Jan 7th
During your class, we’ll be focusing on the following basic skills: slicing and chopping onions and shallots; puréeing garlic; tomato concassé; chiffonade of leafy herbs; how to dice, slice and julienne vegetables; peeling round fruits; and segmenting citrus fruits.This class will arm you with the knowledge and skills required to wield your knives with greater confidence and finesse on your own.

Join them for a go back to basics with this perfectly balanced chocolate chip cookie. In this class you’ll make an individual portion of food and learn the skills to recreate this recipe at home. To reduce waste, please bring a carryout container. Doors to the Kitchen will close 10 minutes after the indicated start time.

Kitchen Skills Series: All Things Pastry Jan 27 & 28th
In this class we will work to make sweet and savoury shortcrust pastry (think quiche!), sweet and savoury basic pastry (think apple pie!), sweet and savoury choux pastry (think eclairs!), as well as rough puff and puff pastry. We will also use each type of pastry in both a sweet and savoury way. Each student will go home with a pie plate, a batch of basic pastry, and a batch of puff pastry for their freezer.

Join Alex Pulwicki in the kitchen to learn about cheese making. You will chat about good dairy – what that means, where to source it and why it’s important not only in cheese-making but across the board! The class will start prepping our cheese Friday evening and finish things Saturday. Included in this class is dinner on Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and an in-depth recipe pack.

Steak House Faves. A Date Night Cooking Class Jan 20th
Join Get Cooking for a night of Steak House favourites, and you'll start the night with our deliciously cheesey Hot Crab Dip. Next up is a Wedge Salad of iceberg lettuce with a blue cheese dressing, followed by steak of course! They will teach you how to cast iron sear and butter baste your Steaks, then we'll finish them with a Green Peppercorn Pan sauce, and Homemade Fries.
