4 Places to Sunset & Chill in Edmonton

There’s nothing more romantic than a date to catch the best views in the city, at sunset. Pack a picnic or arrange one through one of the local luxury picnic companies, grab your favourite snacks, and head out find your next adventure.

Here’s the four best places to Sunset & Chill in Edmonton

The Lookout at Strathearn (top of Connors Road)

The river, the city, the views - you’ll love this location to watch the sunset in Strathearn. Park on Strathearn Drive, and find a spot on the grass in time for the sunset. Wander over towards the left and there are pop-up murals to find. Don’t forget a blanket, there’s only one bench - there’s plenty of greenspace to catch the sunset, even if the lone bench is occupied.

Wolf Willow Stairs

Just because there are stairs downs’t mean that you have to make it a workout. At sunset, you can hang out at the top of the stairs, and catch views - and maybe a bit of adventure if you get tempted by the nearby trails.

We suggest taking the stairs, you’ll feel like you’ve escaped the city, and the views are almost as good from the top.

Keillor Point | 7433 Saskatchewan Dr. NW

Hands up if you feel like The End of the World Was better before the revamp. Yeah, we think so too. Regardless, it’s a great lookout point to catch a sunset in Edmonton. Though there isn’t much room for a picnic on the look out deck, you can still catch a standing view of the sunset -  plus, the nearby paths make for a great place to explore.

McNally School | 8440 105 Ave NW

Gorgeous views, multiple benches to sit on and tons of green spaces, the school is one of the most romantic places in the city to catch a sunset. Grab a picnic from a local restaurant, pack a blanket, and you’re ready to enjoy golden hour, and an incredible view after dark.

It also happens to be a popular spot for local outdoor yoga classes

Floden Park | 4209 111 Ave. NW

This small lookout point is an incredible view, but the real highlight here in the swing. You can swing under a gorgeous canopy, looking over the city as the sun sets. It’s definitely one of those experiences you’re going to want to capture this fall.
