All weekend the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is performing Beethoven’s 5th. The magnificent Fifth has been one of Beethoven's most popular works from his time to ours. Its bold drama, fearless defiance and triumphant finale still raise goosebumps. In 2021, Calgary’s Kevin Chen was the youngest winner in the history of the Liszt Piano Competition; he plays his award-winning interpretation of Liszt’s dazzling concerto. Both works are complemented by a colourful operatic overture.

YEGIce Fest is the first winter recreation festival around the local urban ice climbing wall. Climb the ice wall for free, try fat biking, and take part in the obstacle course. Plus, SYC brewing is taking over the patio at Edmonton Ski club!

A night geared towards promoting and showcasing the creativity and talent of the artists of Edmonton. It will provide space as a workshop to fine-tune and play new original material while giving fellow musicians the chance to contribute their ideas and inspirations constructively.
Yardbird Suite presents Angela Verbrugge with The Ray Gallon Trio
Angela is primarily influenced by traditional jazz, the swing era, vintage musicals, and bebop. As a composer and lyricist, her work has received critical acclaim. “She is a witty songwriter, drawing on Cole Porter, Gilbert and Sullivan, and Johnny Mercer for inspiration and rapid-fire rhymes, occasionally resembling a less vinegary Dave Frishberg.”
