Twinkling Lights all over Campus

Find the twinkling lights all over campus to celebrate the 50th Anniversary and you can snap a photo with them, and enjoy the lights until the 20th of March. Find a lit-up rainbow walkway in front of campus, a grove of trees by the clock tower, a tall tall light display outside of residence and twinkling lights all over.

Mitchell Gallery in Allard Hall

This free-to-explore gallery on the first floor of Allard Hall is an incredibly-curated collection of rotating art. It’s a great starting point for exploring the MacEwan University campus, with easy parking. Stop by to see a cool digital art feature! You can find the gallery exhibit details, here and book an appointment, here.

The View from the Stairs

Explore more than the first floor, head up to take in the view from above. The iconic stairs view is a must-see when you’re exploring MacEwan. You’ve likely seen photos of this one all over instagram!

MacEwan University’s urban centre for arts and culture, Allard Hall, creates an elegant entrance landmark to its City Centre Campus in Edmonton, AB. The building’s focal point is its central, multi-storey double atria crossed by dramatic angled pedestrian bridges linking each of its five floors, from the ground to the top floor where natural light pours in via clerestoreys.

kihêw waciston, Indigenous Centre

A favourite study spot for students. Don’t skip the outdoor view of art from the Pedway, where the glass is lined with art. The kihêw waciston is an incredible place to learn from the elders in our community. Fun fact: the name means ‘Eagle’s Nest’ in Cree.

Takam Market

Brand new to Campus, this new food experience in Robbins Health Learning Centre features favourites like Filistix, Sosyal scoops and Ayco bakery and is open Monday to Friday, 10 am - 3 pm. Add it to your list of places to grab lunch on campus! This space looks like it’s going to be ever evolving, so check back often for new vendors and food experiences.

Deville Coffee

Deville Coffee just opened, and is worth a trip for the bright space, where you’ll find instagrammable coffee and snacks. There is plenty of community (and comfortable) seating inside. Don’t skip the croissants! The coffee shop is open 7:30 am to 8 pm, Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 6 pm on Friday, and 7:30 am to 2 pm on Saturday.

A pop-up Water Obstacle Course

Visit the MacEwan Wellness centre on the first Saturday of the month for a pop-up WIBIT (you know, those incredible obstacle courses on the lake) between 2-4pm to see if you can make it to the end. It’s a smaller-scale version of the popular obstacle courses, but is a great way to try something new and get active and try to make it to the end. End up in the hot tub for an afternoon date. Yes, it’s open to the public!

The Secret (not so secret) Garden

Explore the east exit outside of building five during the warmer months to find the green space. You’ve probably passed by it if you’ve walked to the MacEwan LRT Station. Grab some lunch, and enjoy this one during the summer months.
